The defect system in Bromine supports custom types, statuses, etc. To define these, go to Admin Module->Edit Misc. Type of Defect, and Type of Defect Status allows you to define these.
In revisions above 51 (get it with SVN) Bromine's defect system can be overridden and an external defect system of your choice can be used instead. This is for all you Jira fans out there

You can attach a defect to a test:

• Open the project that you have executed and analyzed a test in.
• Go to Test Result Manager->Analysis, and choose the test to open a defect on.
• Click the icon next to the defect name.
• This brings up a new window with "Add Defect" and "Add Comment" buttons. Click "Add Defect".
• Type the specifics of the defect, and fill this page out.
• Click submit.
• Go to Test Results Manager->Show Defects to view the defect that you created.

Or you can just add a defect:

• Navigate to 'Test Results Manager' -> 'Show defects'
• Click 'Add defect'
