Quickstart - Raw data v. Analysis

This page describes how to manipulate captured test results and why you might want to do that.

Prerequisites

It is assumed that you have already obtained at least one set of test results.

  1. You will need the patch in BR-12 (parser.php.patch).

Raw Data

  1. Select a project from the dropdown.
  2. Click on Test Result Manager in the top menu bar.
  3. Click on Raw data in the sub menu bar.

At this point you should have at least one test result. If not review the other Quickstarts for details on how to obtain a dataset. (cf: Quickstart - Bromine Test Suites).

If you click on your dataset link, you will have the ability to review test results, but not change them. That is only possible in the Analysis area.

Your dataset has a bargraph which indicates the amount of green (passing) / red (failing) tests. If you have any red test results, you will want to send your dataset to Analysis for review.

  1. Check the dataset(s) that you want to move to Analysis.
  2. Click on Send to analysis.

Analysis

  1. Click on Analysis from the sub menu bar.
  2. Click on your problem dataset.
  3. Disable Tests succeeded
  4. Disable Help text
  5. Click on Show

At this point you will see a small icon to the left of your failing test name.

  1. Click on the icon.

Now you will see a pop-up window with the details of your failing test.

You can do one of the following actions:

  • Add a comment.
  • Manually pass the test.
  • Add a defect.
  1. Close any remaining popup windows.

It's important to note that only data in analysis will be used for analyzing whether requirements have passed or not.
